Notes from Sunday’s Lesson (9/01/19)
Book of Ephesians 1:1-14
The main thought you should get from these verses is the grace & peace of Jesus Christ. Both grace and peace come from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We should never take these for granted and continually acknowledge them as being from Jesus, thanking Him for them in our prayers every day.
Through Christ – Eph 1:3
We need to share our blessings through Christ! Don’t keep them to ourselves.
Chosen – Eph 1:4-5
We’re chosen to be holy and blameless.
Predestined doesn’t mean we’re chosen from birth to be saved and there’s nothing we can do about it. It means that anyone who has chosen to follow Jesus and become a Christian is predestined to be saved as a result, but only if he continues to be faithful to his Lord.
Glorious Grace – Eph 1:6
Let us always remember His grace. There is no forgiveness of our sins without it.
Redemption in Him
Through Blood – Eph 1:7
The blood of Jesus redeems us. Without it, there is no salvation.
We are forgiven by the grace of God.
Lavished Upon Us – Eph 1:8
His grace is lavished upon us. Again we can say without it there is no salvation because we are sinful by nature.
The Mystery of His Will – Eph 1:9-10
That is the gospel of Jesus Christ. To those who don’t read & study the scriptures, it is a mystery.
The Purpose of Him – Eph 1:11
We should always live a purposeful life serving God in every facet of it.
The Praise of His Glory – Eph 1:12
Our hope in Christ is to the praise of His Glory.
The Truth of His Gospel – Eph 1:13-14
Is Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior.
